Infant Toddler Development

Early intervention services for children ages 0-3 with developmental delays.

A Little Help Where It's Needed

The Infant-Toddler Developmental Center was created to screen children for developmental delays and connect their families with services and answers. Active since 1981, “In-Tot” has already served 500 Lewis County children and their families.

This program offers free developmental screenings in a wide variety of settings. Where intervention is needed, our Family Resource Coordinators (FRCs) can help you find the providers, evaluations, and therapies your child needs. In-Tot will help you develop an Individual Family Resource Plan (IFSP) reflecting your family’s unique concerns, interests, and values.

Frequently Asked Questions

Eligible children have a delay of 25% or more, or show a 1.5 standard deviation below his or her age in one or more developmental areas. Physical or mental conditions that cause known delays may also qualify children for intervention.

Nope! Anyone may refer a family with the parent or guardian’s permission. Parents can also call and schedule an appointment directly.

Screenings are free, and we can bill private or public insurance for therapy costs. Your family resources coordinator (FRC) can help you apply for financial aid if you have costs not covered by insurance.

Screenings are brief evaluations of your child’s development, performed by trained professionals. In-Tot will screen the developmental areas of gross and fine motor, problem solving, communication, social and self-help skills. If the screening reveals any concerns, further evaluation will be discussed.

When a developmental screen reveals a concern, we perform a more in-depth evaluation. These are completed with you (child’s guardian), your child, and early intervention professionals. We also offer a comprehensive list of Early Intervention services to meet the individual needs of each child and family

When your child turns three, early intervention services end and new services and supports may be available. Six to nine months before your child’s third birthday, you and your team, including your FRC, will plan for transition to preschool special education services or other services and supports.
